Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
This was my wife and I's first experience with using a tour company. Our guide, Marco from Trafalgar was outstanding. He provided lots of history and information about each location/region that we visited. All transportation, accommodations, and entry tickets were ready with no waiting in long lines to purchase them. I couldn't imagine planning all the logistics involved and then waiting in a ticket line for hours. We were able to walk right into every site which allowed us to see much more than if we did it on our own or with another tour agency. Additionally, our bus driver Roberto was also outstanding. He negotiated some very narrow roads and crazy traffic with ease.
Had no issues with the travel, there were changes that happened along the way but our tour director was amazing and took care of everything we needed.
The trip was fantastic, exceeded expectations!!
The hotels were, with the exception of the one in Assisi and the Sheraton, dirty and small. The first hotel in Rome, Tiberia, had bedbugs and we were told they didn't have anywhere to move us. When we called to the desk to have someone come up, a bellboy came up and shook all of the blanket and put them on the floor with our luggage. He killed one of the bugs and said, "you are ok now, I got it." When the manager came up, he was not very concerned either. He finally moved us to the first floor next to a smoking room that smelled horrible and was the size of a closet for the 3 of us. He did launder the clothes that were on our bed for us. Our tourguide didn't seem concerned either. It was a huge inconvenience and I came home and threw out my luggage and the things that were in it, so as not to bring bedbugs home with me. I understand that things happen, but there was no concern, remorse or compensation for this horrible experience. My goddaughter was traumatized that there were bugs in the bed she slept in. She slept on the wooden chair in the room. Another hotel (Capri) had a filthy mattress and they refused to change it or our room. The manager told me he was too busy and I was just going to have to deal with it until the next day, when he wasn't so busy. In Lido, there were no towels in our room. We requested them and they only gave us two, for a 3 person room. They said they didn't have anymore. When they refreshed the room (we were there for 2 days), they didn't leave towels again. When I called down, they said they didn't have any. They also didn't have any luggage racks and the room was so small, we couldn't open our suitcases. Our shower door came off the hinge and they said they couldn't fix it until the next day. The food at the hotel, in most cases, was not good. If it weren't for our free time and the optional experiences, we wouldn't have experienced good food. The optional excursion at the farmhouse in Tuscany was not worth the money. The farm was beautiful, but the food was not very good. I know we didn't book a luxury tour, but my experience was that the accommodations were below average and not the caliber that I would choose for a vacation, or even an overnight stay on the road. We were a three person accommodation and, in all cases, except Assisi, the rooms were uncomfortable, too small and the third bed was a cot or sofa. For the money we paid, the accommodations were unacceptable.
Itinerary was exactly as promised We saw and did so much in the time we had. We could choose to be on our own at times or book an optional tour with a local specialist. All the local specialists were outstanding as was our tour director. Trafalgar spares nothing when it comes to our convenience and not having to worry about getting anywhere or following our itinerary or safety. I would always book with Trafalgar. They are the best
The trip was exceptional, my only thing was there was alpt of hsrd walking esp.the one to the hotel in Capri other hotels not too far to walk
Trafalgar offers a good mix of included activities and optional free time. About half the tour group would book optional excursions during the free time, and half would venture out on their own. We chose to venture on our own, so we could explore at our own pace and enjoy the amazing food along the way. I would use Trafalgar again, because I appreciated that they didn't plan every single hour of the day.
Don't be afrraid to use Affordable Tours-they are thorough, courteous, professional, and did an excellent job. They answered all my questions and went to great lengths to meet my satisfaction.
Very positive experience, great agent, very knowledgable.
Every aspect of the trip exceeded our expectations except for one. Two days into the trip we were hit with a 20% "optional surcharge" for must see trips. I do not like to be low balled on prices. Except for that everything was great and we have memories for a lifetime. Thanks
Everything was well planned and the whole trip was very enjoyable.
Our tour guide was exceptional. He made our trip very enjoyable.
