My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed Globus' Avalon
Waterways Christmastime Cruise along the
Danube.
We sailed from
Budapest,
Hungary, to
Nuremberg,
Germany, and then spent two
nights in
Prague, Czech Republic. The snowy
mountaintops and valleys we saw in between our ports of call were absolutely
beautiful.
Our ship was very comfortable, and we appreciated our top-deck room with a
French balcony, where we could open the doors to get fresh air, take photos or
just enjoy the scenery. The staff was very fun loving and accommodating; when
we came back on board from daily sightseeing, they always had hot drinks ready
for us.
My favorite port was Melk, where we toured the beautiful Benedictine Abbey. If
you want to visit as many Christmas markets as possible, book your cruise as
close to December 1 as you can; some of these open-air events don't begin
until late in the month of November.
