Regent Seven Seas has luxury cruising down to an art.
Attentive staff, all-suite cabins, gourmet dining and Broadway-caliber
entertainment are signature offerings on Regent cruises, and my week-long Mediterranean
vacation on the Seven Seas Navigator from
Rome to Nice was no exception.
The accommodations aboard the 490-passenger Navigator are spacious. All of its
suites have ocean views, most with private balconies. The king-size beds
convert to twins, marble bathrooms have tubs and separate showers. Thoughtful
amenities include terry robes, hair dryer, refrigerator stocked with drinks and
a walk-in closet.
In Italy,
we docked at lovely Livorno (gateway to Florence)
and Portofino
to enjoy walking tours, art, monuments, churches and cafés in the charming
Italian towns. We also stopped at the island
of Corsica, cosmopolitan Marseille,
and the medieval town of Sete,
France.
The Navigators
signature restaurant is Portofino Il Ristorante, where authentic Italian
cuisine is served. Only 80 guests are welcomed into the restaurant at one time
to sample antipasti and complimentary wine, and then sit down for a gourmet
meal topped off with a luscious dessert.
If you want to feel indulged and pampered on a romantic
ocean cruise, I highly recommend Regent Seven Seas.
